everything's going swimmingly.. [18 Mar 2008|06:27am]
i don't think i've ever been this elated :)

first, my parents are now in new york. on US$800 hahaha. mom AND dad. and they didn't have any problem getting seats, which is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. score!

second, an angel in the form of a sri lankan girl came into my life and gave me her tunis flight, in exchange for my standby and double dubai (i know, right), and the tunis flight got magically transformed into a long manila, which is another big SCORE for me. i got to see my babies, and my honster, plus, i got extra flying hours!

third, i found out that i am capable of surviving on less than 1,500 riyals (about 15,000 pesos) in a month.  OMG! that in itself is great news because that means i don't really need so much money each month, meaning (i hope) savings!

last, my credit card usage has been controlled this month, and now i have to shell out only 18% of my salary to pay for it! woot!

thank you God for everything! i am super happy :)

BEWARE OF ST FRANCIS MALL [05 Mar 2008|01:54am]
guys, this is not spam, nor a hoax. i don't forward/repost things that are immaterial or i believe to be fake. this just hit me a little too close to home. please take time to read this and if there is anything you think we can do to help get justice for my friend's sister, don't hesitate to let me know either via multiply, email, or sms. what happened to her is not right, and if there is something in our power to prevent it from happening to someone else, we should do it right?

that's what i think, anyway. at the very least, let this serve as a warning to us who frequent the said mall. i myself don't think we should keep patronizing an establishment that doesn't even ensure the safety of their customers. if someone has a contact there or whatever, help naman. thanks!

I am just a brother ranting on what happened to my sister. I am so furious now that I can actually think of evil ways on how to get even, much less hurt those who have physically abused her.

I am Benjamin B. Mina III, a brother of a girl who was beaten up at St. Francis Mall. As much as it pains me recounting the horrible incident, I feel, nonetheless, compelled to relay this to everyone who can be a victim, who can be someone who has no means to fight for their rights.

1pm, last Friday (29FEB08). My sister and another girl went to St. Francis Mall to buy a PSP slim. Before going to the office, they thought of checking that mall to look for the cheapest possible unit. And true enough they were able to purchase what they wanted, at a price that is reasonable for them.

It was just unfortunate that upon checking, the sold unit wasn’t PSP slim. They then decided to go back on their 6pm break and have what they got swapped.

The intention was clear. It was just to have it swapped, and hence get what they paid for. So when they got there and asked for the right units, the attendants suddenly berated at them telling all sorts of things. Mind the approach. The girls just scolded them for whatever reason. Yes, the delayed reporting may be suspicious and for someone keeping a business in that kind of nature may come across guarded and not entertain the dispute. BUT, just like any other businesses, things could have been handled properly; at least with the intention to address the concerns of my sister. BECAUSE after all my sister was a customer who was not satisfied with the sales that happened.

Arguments continue. My sister was insisting of getting what she actually bought. She was even apologetic at first for whatever inconvenience the incident may have caused. This was so because she admits that it should have been her responsibility to check what she purchased at the point of sale. But no, the attendants kept on berating at my sister and her friend. It came to a point that my sister just proposed to cancel the sales and get the money back.

Arguments still continued. And in between those arguments, my sister, as she admitted it, cursed the attendants. Out of frustrations, may be. But regardless of the reason, the verbal insult does not IN NO WAY merit a physical retaliation.

My sister and her friend was beaten up by 2 girls and 3 guys. Sinabunutan at binugbog sha ng 5 tao. 5 taong nagtratrabaho sa mall na ‘yun. She didn’t fight back. And with her shocked self, her immediate goal was to escape and run from those who are hurting her. They were able to run away from the stall. But when she got to the entrance near Podium, she was caught and was again beaten up. This time, as if my sister and her friend made a grave crime, those people were not contented with what they did. Parang ang mga sabunot at bugbog sa kanila ay kulang pa, pinalo sila ng paulit ulit ng kahoy sa ulo. 5 against 1. or should I say 10-12 against two GIRLS.

This took place between 6-630pm. The way they hurt my sister is just plain gross. It was unimaginably ugly that this happened in a commercial place, much less happen in a busy time when most people are just about to go home or go to malls. They almost killed her. I fear for my sister. I fear for all those people who are patronizing the place to get “good buys”.

Is this the kind of people who are in there now? Is this how they do business there? Is it really not safe there now? My sisters and I practically grew up in this area. Almost everyday of our lives were spent here. Our schools are here. Our preferred malls are here. And until now that we are already working, we are still here patronizing and loving the fact that this is an area where we can be safe.

This horrible incident changed everything; at least my idea of St. Francis Mall. I can’t help but feel rage. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY HURT ANYONE. My sister was just buying PSP slim for a cheaper price and she gets this?!

I just wanted to share what transpired. I may have arguments that are emotional and not solely based on the conflict. But I am just a brother who’s hurt. So sue me or kill me if I have offended those who have interests in that mall.

for odge: i'm making this a public post so that more people, including my stalkers (oo meron wahaha) will be aware of this incident. if i had the power lang to megaphone ur story all over pasig, dude, i will. :)
